Ingredients

Patties
  • 1.25 lbs ground turkey
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 0.5 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
For Serving (Optional)
  • hamburger buns
  • lettuce
  • tomato slices
  • cheese slices
  • condiments ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • skillet or grill
  • spatula
  • meat thermometer (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, beaten egg, bread crumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or grill over medium heat. Lightly grease the cooking surface to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the turkey patties on the hot skillet or grill and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Serving
  1. Remove the cooked turkey burgers from the heat and let them rest for a couple of minutes. Serve immediately on hamburger buns with your favorite toppings and condiments.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add finely chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro to the turkey mixture. Adjust seasoning to taste and consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper for a subtle kick.
