Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb Ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 Bell pepper chopped
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes 14.5 oz
  • 1 can Kidney beans 15 oz, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can Black beans 15 oz, rinsed and drained
  • 2 tbsp Chili powder
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 cup Water or broth

Equipment

  • Large pot or Dutch oven
  • Spoon

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the pot. Add chopped onion and bell pepper, then cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add water or broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let the chili simmer for at least 20 minutes, or up to an hour, to allow the flavors to meld. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or fresh cilantro.

Notes

For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a chopped jalapeƱo with the onion and bell pepper. This chili can be made ahead of time and reheats beautifully. It's also great for meal prepping!
