  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
Mixing and Baking
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.
  4. Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
  5. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting (Optional)
  1. Once completely cooled, frost the cupcakes with your favorite vanilla buttercream or other frosting.

Notes

For an extra touch, add a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom to the dry ingredients. Ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for the best results.
