Preparation
  1. Place the peeled and quartered potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold, salted water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain the potatoes thoroughly and return them to the hot pot.
  3. Add the minced garlic, butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the pot with the hot potatoes.
  4. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste, adding more salt or pepper if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can roast the garlic cloves before mashing them with the potatoes. You can also add a pinch of fresh chopped chives or parsley for garnish.
