Assembly
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish, then layer with noodles, ricotta mixture, ground beef, more sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers two more times, finishing with a final layer of noodles, sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
Bake and Serve
- Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, you can add some Italian herbs like oregano and basil to the ricotta mixture or the marinara sauce. To make this dish vegetarian, substitute the ground beef with sautéed vegetables such as spinach, zucchini, and mushrooms. Ensure the noodles are slightly al dente before assembling to prevent them from becoming mushy during baking. If you prefer a crispier top, you can broil the lasagna for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking, keeping a close eye on it to prevent burning.
