Preparation
- In a blender, combine the sliced peaches with lemon juice and blend until smooth.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar dissolves.
Chilling and Churning
- Stir the blended peach mixture into the cream mixture.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to chill thoroughly.
- Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freezing
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 2-4 hours, or until firm, before serving.
Notes
For an even richer flavor, use ripe, in-season peaches. Adjust sugar to taste based on the sweetness of your peaches.
