Preparation
- Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces and toss with 1 tablespoon cornstarch.
- Whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, chicken broth, brown sugar, and sriracha (if using) in a bowl to create the sauce.
Cooking
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add chicken and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, bring it to a simmer, and cook for 3-5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the remaining cornstarch in 1 tablespoon of water and stir this mixture into the simmering sauce to further thicken it.
Finishing
- Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
- Serve immediately over cooked rice.
Notes
For extra crispiness, you can shallow fry the chicken pieces before adding the sauce. Adjust sriracha to your spice preference. Serve with steamed broccoli or other vegetables for a complete meal.
