Ingredients

Meatballs
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for cooking

Equipment

  • Large bowl
  • Skillet

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Gently mix the ingredients with your hands until just combined, being careful not to overmix, then divide the mixture into five equal portions and roll each into a spherical meatball.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, ensuring the pan is hot before adding the meatballs.
  2. Carefully place the meatballs into the hot skillet, ensuring they are not overcrowded, and sear them on all sides until a golden-brown crust forms.
  3. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and continue to cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the meatball mixture, as this can lead to tough meatballs. You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for beef if desired.
