Ingredients
  

Chicken Souvlaki
  • 600 g Chicken breast
  • 1/4 cup Olive oil
  • 1/4 cup Lemon juice
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
For Serving (Optional)
  • 4 pieces Pita bread
  • 1/2 cup Tzatziki sauce
  • 1 cup Cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 Cucumber diced
  • 1/4 Red onion thinly sliced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch cubes and combine them in a bowl with olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
Marinating
  1. Toss the chicken until coated, then cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld.
Skewering
  1. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning, then thread the marinated chicken cubes onto the skewers.
Grilling
  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat, then cook the chicken skewers for 3-4 minutes per side, until the chicken is cooked through and lightly charred.
Serving
  1. Serve the hot chicken souvlaki immediately with warm pita bread, a dollop of tzatziki sauce, and fresh chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, and red onion.

Notes

For best results, marinate chicken for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight.
