Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb beef sirloin sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 carrots julienned
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp ginger grated
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Equipment

  • large bowl
  • whisk
  • large skillet or wok

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch to create the stir-fry sauce. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
  2. Slice the beef sirloin thinly against the grain and cut all the vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bell pepper) as directed.
Cooking
  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, then remove the beef and set aside.
  2. Add a little more oil if needed, then add the broccoli florets, julienned carrots, and sliced bell pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  3. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens and coats everything evenly.
  4. Remove from heat and drizzle with sesame oil just before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve the beef stir fry immediately with steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can marinate the beef in a tablespoon of the stir-fry sauce for 15-20 minutes before cooking. Adjust the amount of honey to your sweetness preference. You can also add other vegetables like snap peas or mushrooms.
