Preparation
- To make the dough, combine flour and salt in a large bowl, then cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add cold water, mixing until a dough forms; kneed briefly, then chill for 30 minutes.
- For the filling, mix shredded chicken, chopped onion, and taco seasoning in a separate bowl.
Assembly and Baking
- Divide the chilled dough into 5 equal portions, then roll each portion into a thin circle.
- Place a spoonful of chicken filling in the center of each dough circle, then fold the dough over and crimp the edges to seal.
- Bake the empanadas at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
