Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet.
- Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness of about 1/2 inch.
Breading the Chicken
- Set up a breading station with three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with a whisked egg, and one with breadcrumbs.
- Dredge each chicken breast in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs, ensuring full coating.
Cooking the Chicken
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear chicken for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown, then transfer to the prepared baking sheet.
Baking and Serving
- Spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast, then top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
- Serve immediately with your favorite pasta or a side salad.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can add Italian seasoning to the breadcrumbs. Ensure chicken is cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
