  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Packed light brown sugar
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract

  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  2. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still soft.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the dough. You can also chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for a chewier cookie.
