Prepare the Dough
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy, then stir in olive oil and salt.
- Gradually add flour to the mixture, mixing until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours until doubled in size.
Assemble the Pizza
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside, and punch down the risen dough to release air.
- Roll or stretch the dough into your desired pizza shape on a floured surface, then carefully transfer it to a piece of parchment paper.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and your chosen toppings.
Bake and Serve
- Carefully slide the pizza with the parchment paper onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve your delicious homemade pizza.
Notes
For a crispier crust, preheat your pizza stone or baking sheet for at least 30 minutes. Feel free to customize your toppings with your favorite ingredients.
