Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 Eggs large
  • 1 1/2 cups Milk
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Waffle iron
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar by whisking them together thoroughly.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, oil or melted butter, and vanilla extract until they are well combined.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir just until combined, being careful not to overmix; some lumps are acceptable.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it as per the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. Pour approximately ½ to ¾ cup of batter onto the hot waffle iron, adjusting the amount based on your iron's size, then close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  3. Carefully remove the cooked waffle and repeat the process with the remaining batter; serve the waffles immediately with your favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra fluffy waffles, separate the eggs and beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter as the very last step before cooking.
