Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain it well.
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper, mixing until well combined.
Assembly
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Add half of the cooked ziti over the sauce, then top with half of the ricotta mixture, and sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella.
- Repeat the layers: remaining ziti, remaining ricotta mixture, another layer of marinara sauce, and cover with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Baking
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Notes
For an extra touch of flavor, you can add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the marinara sauce before layering. Adjust seasoning to your preference.
